“I came to Dancers Shape right after major reconstructive knee surgery. I really felt as though Dancers Shape was able to help condition my muscle memory back to fully functional, not only by way of strengthening the quads, hamstrings, glutes, and hips, but also reteaching the muscles around my knee to stabilize.”

“I have a bone spur and bulging disc in my neck. When I started at Dancers Shape I was in a lot of pain. I did not have mobility in my neck and I was unable to lift my right arm over my head. My shoulder, elbow, and wrist were inflamed due to the nerve damage. I had been to three different physical therapists that addressed only my neck with no relief. Since each Dancers Shape class targets the whole body, starting with the core, my muscles that were continually weak and those that were overcompensating, became stronger and better balanced. Over time my entire body became more balanced in strength, mobility and flexibility. The mobility I have regained since taking classes over the past 15 months is remarkable.” READ MORE.

I have been a regular at Dancer’s Shape for over a year. I was feeling very strong and fit, so I was pretty surprised to get a breast cancer diagnosis. Luckily they found it early. No chemo needed, just radiation. I wanted to maintain my strength as best I could. So after surgery I came back to class as soon as I felt able. I didn’t have the same range of motion and power I had before, so I changed the kinds of classes I was taking. Eventually, through bodywork, a stretching/yoga practice and Dancer’s Shape classes, I regained my range of motion. During treatment, the classes gave me something to look forward to and helped me maintain my strength and stamina. READ MORE

"I was always a very active person, from soccer year round, running half marathons and training with David King Fitness (they are no joke!!). However, at the same time I battled a very low immune system and difficult sinuses resulting in 16 surgeries over the last few years. I was never able to continually stay healthy or in shape because of the varying illnesses I would catch. A wonderful doctor suggested I look into a low impact exercise that kept my heart rate no higher than 155 due to medications. Two and a half months after my first Graceful class, I am down to 127 pounds and I have only been sick one time. I feel confident again, happy, and most importantly HOPEFUL….which I have not felt in a very, very long time! Thank you from my immune system, my size 4 pants again, and my heart!” READ MORE

"As a pre-teen, I developed adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. This condition tends to progress as you grow through your teenage years. By the time I was 13, my case became severe enough to justify spinal fusion surgery. I have had back pain off and on since recovering from the surgery, now well over half my life ago. After starting classes at Dancers Shape, I started noticing muscles and strength where I had felt weak before, and I had greatly improved balance and flexibility. I also found that I was in a great mood after every class and felt less stressed in general. The best result for me has been that my range of motion in my spine has greatly improved AND my back has stopped hurting almost altogether. All of my joints feel much stronger and more stable, and I've gotten a little trimmer without having to diet. I can highly recommend Dancers Shape for anyone looking to recover from injuries and surgeries.” READ MORE

I have multiple sclerosis. I was kind of at a low point and at somewhat of a crossroads mentally when I decided to do the Dancers Shape challenge and it completely created a new improved version of me. I definitely needed some toning and muscle building which I have started a good bases for through this challenge. Living with MS, people including doctors have this mindset that you shouldn't go too crazy on exercising and overheating yourself etc. My thought process is to push myself further and prove that you can do anything you want to if you are determined enough to do it. I do have some muscle issues that do bother me the more I exercise, jump, heat up etc., but its transient. I just stop or stretch a minute and continue on. I am a very determined and stubborn individual, so when there is a challenge, I will be one of the first to sign up. At times, I hope I inspire some of my friends who are perfectly healthy to become more active in their daily living. If anyone could have an excuse, it really could be me, but I refuse to play the victim and really encourage all healthy individuals to be active now, as the time might come when they find themselves unable to. Life is too short to sit on the couch and watch t.v.! READ MORE
