In order to grow a small human, many muscles must stretch and effectively ‘get out of the way’ for birth - learn to connect your pelvic floor with exercise. The second trimester is a perfect time to begin learning strategies to support your changing body, birth preparation, modifications for group fitness, and considerations for postpartum recovery. This individualized prenatal PT+Pilates package includes both hands-on manual therapy as well as equipment work to help you feel your best. Address muscle imbalances, common pregnancy-related aches and pains, and learn to connect pelvic floor for improved postpartum recovery.

Shape Method’s postpartum PT+Pilates package is an evidence-based core strength program designed by our in-house pelvic floor physical therapist, Dr. Toussaint Biondi. Pregnancy and birth are hard on the pelvic floor and abdominal wall - learn to rebuild your deep core system and reconnect pelvic floor. In your postpartum PT+Pilates package, you will meet first with our women’s health physical therapist for full pelvic, orthopedic, and abdominal assessment. Toussaint will work with your Pilates specialist to design a program specific to your goals - including home program. From diastasis recti to hip pain to pelvic floor issues, these conditions are interrelated. Postpartum rehabilitation works best in a team approach - our focus is on helping you feel more like you!

Dr. Toussaint Biondi
Physical Therapist & Director of Therapeutic Pilates Program
Toussaint Biondi, PT, DPT, OCS is a women’s health physical therapist specialized in Pilates-based pelvic rehabilitation in Central Austin. She received her Doctorate in Physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a board-certified orthopedic specialist with focus on antenatal and postpartum rehabilitation. She holds certifications in Pilates, pelvic rehab, dance medicine, oncology, lymphedema, TMJ dysfunction, and dry needling.
In 2021, after personally struggling with issues like diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary dysfunction she founded ATX Pelvic Health, https://www.atxpelvichealth.com/. Pregnancy and birth are hard on the pelvic floor and abdominal wall. These muscles deserve the same focused rehab we would give any other orthopedic injury. It is her company’s mission to empower women with tools and knowledge to feel 100% their best during pregnancy, birthing, and the perimenopause transition.
