Up for the Challenge: Week 3

It’s hard to believe this Holiday Challenge is over halfway finished! I’m really looking forward to the New Years Challenge now! Have you seen the prizes? It will be great when more people are in the healthy mindset along with me. This week I’m down 8.5 lbs. I am still really excited to lose 10, but I seem to be losing weight a bit slower now (which I think is normal). If the scale hasn’t changed from the day before, I just remind myself to keep my good habits and that it will happen in time.

This week I attended a Shape class and 2 Advanced classes. On Friday I was able to preview the revamped Advanced class that Jennifer will be starting in January. It’s very similar to the class now with some new moves, and it also includes resistance bands. It was a fun challenge and I was definitely sore after!

One big change I’ve made in this challenge is trying not to drink any of my calories. In the end I really prefer to have them for food! I limit myself to 3 alcoholic drinks a week and I even stopped drinking coffee in the morning since I like it with cream & sugar. Now I drink some black tea with no sweetener in the mornings for that bit of a wake up. I never drank soda but I do enjoy La Croix (sparkling water) when I want something different than plain water.

I think Christmas will be a bit of a challenge diet wise. My family has a big Italian meal on Christmas Eve and a big breakfast & Thanksgiving-style meal on Christmas. My nephews already made a bunch of Christmas cookies as well. I planning to keep track of everything I eat but also enjoy myself. A holiday only comes once a year and while I don’t want to completely go crazy on cookies I imagine one is OK. I will report back next week.
