Mommy & Me Functional Strength Class - 15 Minutes
Join Dancers Shape’s Physical Therapist, Dr. Toussaint Biondi, for a 15 minute functional strength training mommy and me class. Dr. Biondi will flow through a sequence that trains hips, trunk, and core/pelvic floor for safe lifting and rolling around on the ground with kiddos. Babies must be minimum 3 months with good head control (we will show multiple holds and modifications for comfort and safety). Toddlers and more mobile babies may move in and out of routine - mom will substitute in dumbbell or kettle bell as needed.
Equipment: 10-20 lb dumbbell or kettle bell OR your baby or toddler (baby must be 3 months to 2 years) This class is appropriate for new moms and toddler moms.
Mommy & Me Functional Cardio Class - 20 minutes
Join Dancers Shape’s Physical Therapist, Dr. Toussaint Biondi, for a 20 minute mommy & me cardio barre class. This class is designed to elevate the heart rate and improve stamina with follow along step cardio, functional movement, and chair barre - all while baby-wearing (no babysitter needed!) The carrier must be well fit following manufacturer guidelines.
Equipment: baby carrier, sturdy chair, sneakers, optional light dumbbells (2-3 lb) and baby or toddler (baby must be 3 months to 2 years) This class is appropriate for new moms and toddler moms. Follow carrier manufacturer instructions (up to 25 lbs).
