Groove Class Welcomes New Instructor Andrea
Dancers Shape
Andrea Lindzey grew up on the stage with a passion for musical theatre. Her mentor, JoAnna (Zercher) Langthorn, was a principal cast member from the original Broadway production of A Chorus Line and helped hone Andrea’s triple threat talents to land her lead roles in several regional shows including Hello Dolly, Anything Goes, and Cabaret. She has continued her passion for performance by recording an album in 2008 with her first band, The Tourist Traps, and working on the Austin City Limits set, choreographing for soul band, T Bird and the Breaks, and Arum Rae at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.
While receiving her BA in psychology from Rice University, Andrea was a Rice University cheerleader and became a certified AFAA kickboxing instructor. She had the unique opportunity to sail around the world on the MV Explorer cruise ship teaching group fitness classes. Andrea recently graduated from the University of Texas with dual master’s degrees in advertising and public affairs and continues to maintain her fitness certifications from accredited technique workshops from Billy Blanks and Jillian Michaels. Andrea is CPR/AED certified.
Andrea has always been a fitness fanatic and believes that life is best balanced with health, fitness, and some good old fashioned time on the dance floor. She is honored to add Dancers Shape to her fitness repertoire and is confident that Dancers Shape will help her grow as a dancer, instructor, and artist.
